The resulting inventory table of the life cycle inventory (step 2) lists all resources taken from the environment and emissions into the environment. This list forms the basis for the next step in LCA – The Life Cycle Impact Assessment.

The impact assessment analyses the impacts of resource use and environmental discharges from an environmental point of view.
