1. First is the intended Goal of the study. The Scope of the study is outlined thereafter.
  2. To quantify the inputs and outputs of the processes, products and their use, a Life Cycle Inventory Analysis needs to be carried out.
  3. The Impact Assessment evaluates these inputs and outputs from an environmental point of view.
  4. An Interpretation of the results of the second and third step completes the study by giving recommendations and evaluating the study in general.
